My Name is Karris Green and I am a Next Generation team leader! I have served in this ministry for 20+ years. I started serving as a jump team member in 5th grade and continued throughout high school working in the nursery/preschool class and in the community. Once I returned from College with my degree in Early Childhood Education, I knew I was called to make an impact on the next generation! I continued serving in Kidzlife and joined the leadership team. I absolutely love that I get the opportunity to learn and grow with this group of kids. It is an honor to build relationships with them!

When I am not serving at Grace and Purpose, I am teaching to my third graders. THIRD IS THE WORD! This is my 9th year teaching. In my classroom, I foster a community mindset where we learn how to be respectful of each other and a love of reading! I tell my students that although I don't have children myself, my classroom library is my baby and the books are my baby's baby. 🥰 I do my best to find books students are interested in, whether it is a series they like to read or an informational topic. I simply just want them to pick up a book! 

In my spare time, I love reading! I will pick up a book whenever I get a chance. I love reading before bed, listening to my audiobooks while driving to and from work, but the best is reading book after book at the pool and at the beach! My favorite books genres are romance, fantasy, historical fiction but most importantly books with and about DRAGONS! Some of my favorite authors include Emily Henry, Rebecca Yarros, Lily Chu, Lnette Noni, and Carley Fortune. Books truly are magical! If you haven't picked one up in a while, give it a try! I don't just read all of the time, some of my other interests include completing puzzles, watching movies with my family, and having game nights where I dominate the winners bracket. My competitive side definitely comes out, it's best to stay ready! Also, I love to travel. I am very fortunate to have visited places like London, Paris, and most of Italy. Just recently, I took my first trip to New Yorkl! I am always looking for a new adventure to go on! I would love to hear about places you have seen too!
